Time, days, and the clock (lesson 8)
Telling time in Nepali — kati bajyo, baje, ghanta. The seven days of the week, and morning/afternoon/evening.

FSI 1979, lesson 8. Time-telling templates: 'kati bajyo?' (what time is it?) → 'X baje' (X o'clock). Half past is 'saadhe X' (saadhe paanch = 5:30). Quarter past is 'sawaa X' (sawaa baara = 12:15). The seven days: aaitabaar (Sunday), sombaar (Monday), mangalbaar (Tuesday), budhabaar (Wednesday), bihibaar (Thursday), shukrabaar (Friday), shanibaar (Saturday). Time of day vocabulary in the second half: bihaana (morning), diuso (noon), saanjh (evening), raati (night). The lesson ends with a useful pattern: 'kati ghanta lagcha?' (how many hours does it take?) — the question every trekker uses at every lodge.
