Wheat is everywhere on the trail; rice-only is the safest framing.

Default chiya is milk tea; ask for kaalo chiyaa (black tea) by name.

Piro = spicy/hot. Khursaani = chili. Both words are needed; cooks sometimes hear one and ignore the other.

Halal availability is rare outside Kathmandu and the Terai — defaulting to vegetarian is the realistic ask.
